Training Programs
Highly trained technical personnel are essential to ATCO Structures & Logistics' success in delivering valuable services to Canada's North Warning System
Industry training programs, like the one originally developed and customized by Nasittuq, provide training for a variety of positions including management, facilities technicians, electronic technicians, supply specialists as well as administration and IT specialists. This particular program includes entry level as well as more senior technical levels of training. The Training Program is designed for the participant to achieve entry level status whereas the Development Program offers training and opportunities for more senior technical levels. Combined with on-the-job training and formal courseware and apprenticeship programs, individuals can gain a wide variety of skill development.
ATCO Structures & Logistics is also co-chair of the Pipeline Operations Training Committee (POTC) program, which delivers the Pipeline and Facilities Operations Training Program in conjunction with Aurora College, NAIT, and SAIT. The POTC was created in 2002 as a partnership among industry, Aboriginal groups, federal and territorial governments to prepare Northerners with skills required for long-term employment opportunities in the pipeline and production operations areas.
