ATCO Frontec was pleased to sponsor this curling team from Whitehorse, Yukon for their 2007/2008 competition season. The team managed to beat tough competition in the regional championships and is now heading to the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier in Winnipeg, Manitoba from March 8-16 to represent the Northwest Territories and the Yukon.

The Brier competition involves 10 provinces plus teams representing Northern Ontario and Yukon/Northwest Territories playing a round robin, leading to the Page Playoff system involving the top four teams.

There will be extensive television coverage, with TSN televising the round robin draws and Page Playoffs while CBC-TV will carry the semi-final and final. The 2008 champion will represent Canada at the world men’s curling championship in Grand Forks, North Dakota in April.

The Brier began in 1927 in Toronto and has been played in 31 different cities across Canada, from Victoria to St. John’s. Manitoba has won a record 26 Briers, the latest by Jeff Stoughton in 1999 in Edmonton, while Alberta is next with 22. New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Yukon/Northwest Territories have yet to win.

Good luck to Chad, Wade, James, Clint and Doug - wishing you great success!
