Vice Presidents
Lillian Hvatum-Brewster was appointed Vice President, Aboriginal Business in August 2004. Lillian has been with ATCO Frontec for 19 years, most recently as Senior Manager, Aboriginal Relations, directly involved in the company's northern and aboriginal partnerships and joint ventures.
She also has extensive experience in training and employment related issues, native adult education in the Northwest Territories and experience in working with land claims and land claim cooperation program agreements. Lillian is located in Inuvik, Northwest Territories.
Dave Read was appointed Vice President, Operations of ATCO Frontec in January 2006. Dave is based in Calgary, Alberta and provides direction and leadership to the company's Northern and Western Canadian operating groups while also overseeing the Human Resources and Corporate Services functions - since early 2008.
He joined ATCO Frontec in August 2002 as a Project Manager for the company's Balkans contract, which provided extensive support services to Canadian Forces personnel in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In January of 2004, Dave was appointed President of Torngait Services Inc., an ATCO Frontec joint venture operation with the Labrador Inuit Development Corporation in Newfoundland.
Dave served 31 years with the Canadian Forces in numerous command and staff appointments both in Canada and abroad, and developed extensive expertise in the fields of operations, training, and human resources. He is a graduate of the Royal Military College (BA in Political Science), the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College, and the Canadian Forces National Security Studies Course.
Gerry Walsh was appointed Vice President and General Manager of ATCO Frontec Europe Ltd. in October of 2006. Gerry is responsible for all of ATCO Frontec’s overseas military operations including the contract administration and operations for NATO at the Kandahar Air Field. His prior role with the company was as Vice President & General Manager, ATCO Frontec Europe.
Gerry joined the company’s Business Development group in 1999 and headed up several new business initiatives, as well as managed the Balkans project supporting Canadian Forces peacekeeping troops in Bosnia from 2000 to 2002.
Prior to joining ATCO Frontec, Gerry spent 33 years with the Canadian Forces, where he gained considerable knowledge and expertise in planning, implementing, overseeing and managing major logistics support activities for both domestic and internationally deployed operations and missions.
Steve Duffy was appointed Vice President, Business Development in July 2007. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Steve plays an integral role in seeking new business opportunities for the company - in Canada and abroad.
He joined ATCO Frontec’s Business Development team in August 2006, where he has since been involved on several large-scale projects. Steve has attended a number of executive leadership and business related programs including those with the American Management Association and the University of British Columbia School of Business.
