With our partner, World Technical Services Inc., ATCO Structures & Logistics operates and maintains the radars, site communication equipment and facilities of the Alaska Radar System (ARS). The ARS is comprised of fifteen geographically separated radar stations, all of which are staffed, along with project management headquartered at Elmendorf AFB.

Each station has an AN/FPS-117 long-range radar, providing three-dimensional search and IFF coverage.  At eight of the fifteen ARS locations, a prime power plant generates all site power, and at seven locations, operational runways are maintained to support military and civilian air traffic.

The Alaska Radar System has a complex communication system designed to ensure available and secure communications.
