The National Research Council (NRC) is a research organization dedicated to advancing the frontiers of scientific and technical knowledge in areas relevant to Canada. Their research is ongoing and involves collaboration with industrial, university and government partners.

In November 2003 ATCO Structures & Logistics commenced a three year contract (with two additional one-year extension options) to provide maintenance, renovations and minor construction services at NRC facilities in and around Ottawa, Ontario. 

At five NRC facilities, involving a total area of 3.3 million square feet, ATCO Structures & Logistics provides the following services utilizing in-house and/or subcontractors resources:

• Equipment servicing and annual certifications (including cranes & hoists, diesel generators, transfer switches, fire detection & protection equipment, oil & gas heating systems, chilled water systems, water treatment systems, gas monitoring & detection systems, dedicated air conditioning systems, and HVAC)
• Preventive maintenance
• Project management of minor capital projects and
• Building renovations
• Emergency response
• Fire scaling reviews
