ATCO Structures & Logistics has been contracted by the Government of Nunavut to provide operation and maintenance services at the Iqaluit International Airport since 2002. 

Specific responsibilities include: 

• Airside/Groundside winter surface snow clearing, ice control and maintenance
• Airside/Groundside summer drainage and water management
• Runway surface condition reporting and analysis
• Airfield lighting and approach control systems maintenance
• Heavy and light mobile fleet equipment repair and preventative maintenance
• Building and equipment life cycle management and preventative maintenance
• Maintenance of prime and backup systems, power, boilers, HVAC and fire suppression
• Monitoring and removal of wildlife from the runways
• Prevention and reporting of environmental cleanup requirements
• Airport access control, gate and perimeter security
• Airport pass control system and registration
• Upper air weather balloon releases and monitoring twice daily
